Dated August 24, 2009: Combeferre and Thom awake in Sidley Park and quickly surmise that the island is playing tricks again. Luckily, this time the tricks seem to be a lot less dangerous. Later that morning they meet in the hermitage to decide how they are going to explain Combeferre's presence to her family.
Living on the edge of the sea meant that the journey to anywhere other than into the water was quite a far journey. What was started in the morning was usually not returned until the evening, which left hours for exploring and moving about in between
